How the right link can help you gain loyal customers
We usually think of links in terms of traffic - either directly or indirectly through the search engines. However, there is another use for links, and one that you probably should be utilizing. You see, the right link can help you to establish yourself (or your company) as an expert in your field - and this is something that you should take seriously.
One of the keys to building a successful online business is developing a group of loyal customers who will return time and again to your website as well as recommend your site to their friends and family. As such, you need to think about what you can do to create those loyal customers. One ingredient (although not the only one) is to establish yourself as an expert in their eyes. You see, people trust experts and trust is one of the pillars of loyalty.
With that said, take a moment and ask yourself, how can you use links to help establish your credibility and expertise online? One idea is to link to online resources that put you in a good light. Have you ever been interviewed? Great, then link to it. Has anyone ever written a write-up of you or your company? Well, there’s another page you’ll want to link to. In short, you need a list of online resources which help establish your credibility and then you need to link to those source. And if those resources don’t exist - then create them!
By the way, there are many avenues available to link to these resources. In addition to linking to them on your own site, you can link to them from other peoples sites, whether it’s in a blog comment that you leave, a post on a forum or an article that you market online. In short, you’ll want to look for opportunities to link to valuable online resources which help put you in a good light.
Of course, you don’t want to lose sight of the may use of links - driving traffic to your site. But so long as you’ve got that solidly covered, you should make sure to take some time and use links to build up your reputation online. Your bottom line will thank you!

[…] As you noticed, I talk about your main focus. This means two things. First of all, it means that you will want to devote the bulk of your time, effort and resources (financial and other) to using links to drive qualified traffic to your site. On the other hand, this is only your main goal. There are other goals. For instance, links can help you build your reputation online (to learn more about using links to help improve your online reputation, check out the following article: http://sembasics.com/sem-blog/link-building/how-the-right-link-can-help-you-gain-loyal-customers). Links can also provide a useful service for your customers (like when you send them to a helpful resource that they wouldn’t know about otherwise). You will want to be aware of these other uses and take advantage of them. […]
